The Oscar iPhone ad, created by TBWA Media Arts Lab, Los Angeles (a unit of longtime Apple shop TBWA/Chiat/Day), marks the first time in recent history that Apple has run an ad for a product that is not yet available. The teaser ad began with a black-and-white close-up of a rotary phone, followed by a montage of clips from 31 different films and TV shows with characters as diverse as Lucille Ball from "I Love Lucy" to Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade from "The Maltese Falcon."
